Remaining Faithful |
|
| If you are married, then you probably know just how important it is that you always remain faithful to your spouse. Not remaining faithful is in fact the great scarlet sin of adultery. You made a vow. God expects you to keep that vow. God expects for you to remain faithful. Are you a Christian? If you have come to Jesus, if you have turned from your sins and trusted Jesus Himself to pay for your sins, then you are a Christian. If you have not, then you are sinner and not a Christian. If you have come to Jesus, then you are united with Jesus. Jesus promised that He would never leave you. You are now a part of the "Bride of Christ" and will spend all Eternity with your Beloved in Heaven. But if you are given to Jesus, have you remained faithful? Have you been taking off that ring (figuratively speaking) lately so that you could sow some "wild oats"? Have you been taking it off as you approached that sinful rendezvous? Have you been "doing it", committing some spiritual fornication with that whore and the Devil's crowd? Yes, you come back to Jesus again. Perhaps you thought that He did not know. Perhaps you thought that you had gotten away with your sin. Perhaps you thought that Jesus would never find out about your "sneaking around". Well, you have a problem. The problem is that Jesus is God. God is all-knowing. Jesus therefore knows every single sin that you have ever done, and the ones you thought that no one would see, the ones in private with the "shades pulled down". Have you been toying with the world, the flesh, and the Devil? Have you thought that you could have it both ways -- that you could have both sin and Jesus? Examine your heart. If you really want to sin, if you try to appear good on the outside, are you really good on the inside? You try to look good at church or at work, but what are you doing in the middle of the night? Is your hand reaching after sin? Are you hungry for sin? For a Christian to not remain faithful to Christ is the great sin of spiritual adultery. Are you a spiritual adulterer? If you habitually sin, then you are not a Christian. That is what the Bible says in First John. If you are not a Christian, then you are playing with your own Damnation. One day soon, you will awake in the eternal flames of Hellfire. Jesus said that unless you repent you will perish. He means you. Perhaps you have been saved from your sins by trusting Jesus. If you are saved, then you need to remain faithful to Jesus. These are days of apostasy. These are days of unfaithfulness to Jesus among so-called Christians. These are days when people want to have it both ways, with one foot in the church and the other in Las Vegas. Most people don't want to remain faithful to Jesus. But you must remain faithful. You must "do right" even if your family, friends, or even a minister should try to get you to commit spiritual adultery against Christ. You must place Jesus and the Bible before such people. You must remain true and faithful to Jesus. Jesus expects no less of you. Time will tell. Time will show whether or not you are a real Christian. Time will show whether or not you want to commit sin with that Whore and those worldly, sinful friends out in the world. Time will tell whether you are a sheep or a goat. Time will tell if you love sin or Jesus. Time will tell. And if you have not been remaining faithful to Christ, then it is time to repent and come and trust Jesus. You really cannot fake having love for Christ if your heart really is rushing after sin. If you are lost, then come to Jesus today and let him wash your sins in his own blood. Jesus will save you if you will come to Him for forgiveness of sin. Come to Jesus. Do it today.
